POV: Peyton King
Peyton was sitting calmly next to the border, her hand hovering just next to it. It was almost as if she could feel the magic, the power coming off from it. Before it was subtle, heck she was a child of Hecate, of course she could feel it, but something was different. Standing up, Peyton kept her hand along the border like she was trailing an actual wall.
She took slow, careful steps all along the camp, following the border. Why was she doing this? What was driving her to actually put forth effort and take time out of her schedule to follow? Maybe she was about to find out? And it looked like she did.
There next to a bunch of bushes was something off about the border. It seemed weaker at this part, like there used to be a hole there and then it got hastily stitched back together. She could sense that it wasn't anything recent, but why was she just know noticing? Why did it really matter at all? Was this just a waste of time.
She was led her for a reason but why? And that's when she noticed a shadow, something was hiding behind a tree just outside the border. She saw it peek around the tree and it was a satyr, but he looked normal. Maybe he was one of the ones trapped. Noticing her notice him, he crawled out of his hiding spot and tip toed to her. Peyton's hazel eyes taking him in, she hadn't seen a satyr in a really long time, especially not one who looked so...not crazy.
Her hand reached out to him, her arm going just inside the border, and he reached out his but it was blocked off. His hand just slammed into the border and it looked like it actually caused him pain. He let out a yelp, and that's when they came. Several satyrs and nymphs came from nowhere, like literally they just popped up all scary movie like, and it actually scared the crap out of Peyton but instead of screaming all girly, she just stood there with her jaw dropped. They inched closer and closer to the poor satyr.
She had to do something, she could get help, she could help herself or she could just watch. What should she do? She wasn't really much of a fighter but she wasn't as heartless as some people think and couldn't just leave someone to die. She had to help, even if it went against her lazy butt nature that she was renown for. And that's when she dove into the heat of the mess.
